Travis Lonnie Rosenbaum September 23, 1942 – February 09, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Travis Lonnie Rosenbaum, 76 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 9, 2019 after fighting a courageous battle. Travis was born in Burton, Texas on September 23, 1942 to Lonnie and Alvine (Knipstein) Rosenbaum. Travis was baptized November 15, 1942 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Rehburg by Rev.

Paul Czerkuz and confirmed on March 25, 1956 by Rev. A.R. Wilber. Growing up he attended Burton schools, but you could always find him on his horse, or in the woods with his coon dogs.

Travis was also an avid deer hunter who enjoyed his time in the blind. He also loved roping and spending time with his friends at the rodeo arena. He enjoyed when they would get together and have a friendly competition.

Travis met the love of his life Marjorie Koehne, they were married on September 28, 1963 at St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill, Texas by Rev. A.J. Mohr. They were blessed with two beautiful children Stephen Dean and Rhonda Jean.

On October 29, 1988, Rhonda was taken unexpectedly in a car accident. Travis was a hardworking man who loved what he did. Travis and Marjorie began their business Rosenbaum Plumbing in 1973.

If you look in the City of Burton, Texas History Book, you’ll find that Travis maintained the Sewer System for the city. As the company continued over the years, he and his partner Ollie Matson of 37 years served the Washington County area. After work, he would always come home to take care of his cattle, horses, and other farm animals.

After the farm chores were done, he would watch his favorite shows which were Rodeos, Westerns, and Country Music with his wife and dog Zoe. Travis loved the outdoors, as well as creating projects for his family. All of the woodwork and tin cutouts will forever be cherished by those of us who received them as a gift.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie of 55 years, son Stephen Dean and wife Christine, sister Doris Ann (Sista) Seilheimer and husband Wayne, grandchild Blake Rosenbaum and wife Kimberly, step-grandchildren Wesley and Heath Kern , and Jessica Dunn, niece Robin Wellmann and husband Jeffrey, nephew Bart Seilheimer and wife Melissa, nephew Kurt Seilheimer, sister-in-laws Loyce Murray and Doris Koehne, brother-in-law David Koehne and wife Carol, and brother-in-law Barry Blum, Uncle Earl Rosenbaum and wife Janet, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Alvine Rosenbaum, daughter Rhonda Jean Rosenbaum, father and mother-in-law Fritz and Clara Koehne, brother-in-law Fred Koehne, sister-in-law Florence Blum, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers are Bart Seilheimer, Jeffrey Wellmann, Kurt Seilheimer, Raymond Rosenbaum, Jerry Herrmann, Bruce Randermann, Gary Rosenbaum, Glenn Rosenbaum, and Trevor Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ollie and Christine Matson and Keith and Terri Smith. The visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St, Tuesday Feb 12th, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Dennis Shaw at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Rehburg on February 13th at 10:00 am.

The burial is to follow at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Rehburg, Hospice Brazos Valley, or your charity of choice. Funeral arrangements for Travis Lonnie Rosenbaum are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham, Texas.
