Obituary for Van Zeigler Cochran Jr. In his youth, Van enjoyed his time as an Eagle Scout. As an adult, he worked for GA Power Southern Company for 39 years before retiring. He loved traveling, football, racing, math, animals, and spending time with family.

Van was preceded in death by his parents, Van Z. Cochran, Sr. and Janie Slayton Cochran, sister Beverly Mimms and Brother-in-Law “Bro” Ricky Chambers. Survivors include: Wife: Tammy Cochran Daughter: Lauren Cochran Step-Children: Cody and Ashlee Cloer Skeeter and Candace Cloer Grandchildren: Tenley Cloer Aubree Cloer Tripp Cloer Brother-in-Law: Rudy Mims Niece: Lacy Mims Brothers and Sisters-in-Law: Dusty and Trena Chambers Tonny and Jinnia Chambers Tommy and Vicky Chambers William and Tammy Chambers Diane Saye Sandy and Mark Waters Tammy Chambers and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held in honor of Van’s life at 2 pm on Saturday, January 26th, 2019 at South Canton Funeral Home with Rev Tyson Smith officiating.
