Crainville Velda Cecelia Fozzard, 94, of Crainville, passed from this life into eternal life with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Helia Healthcare in Energy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. Cody Knapik and Dwayne Fields officiating.

Burial will be in North Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Crainville Baptist Church or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Velda was born February 15, 1924, in Carterville, to William and Mary Jane (Mattingly) McKenzie. She married Maurice “Pee Wee” Fozzard on November 21, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2004.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Fozzard of Crainville and Jim (Glenda) Fozzard of Covington, Georgia; grandchildren, Garrett (Jana) Fozzard of Crainville, Julie (Tommy) Jacobs of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Kimberly (Kevin) Kramer of Nolensville, Tennessee, Jamie (Darin) Smith of Covington, Georgia, Melissa (Sam) Scheibal, and Amanda Delorto of Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Carly Ryan and Zachary Thomas Jacobs, Brett, Drake and Drew Kramer, Garrett Wade Fozzard, Payton Lynn and Coleman Smith, Niko and Noah Scheibal, and Harper Delorto; sisters, Fayetta Robinson and Marjorie Hicks, both of Carterville; sister-in-law, Norma McKenzie of Carterville; special friend, Dianna Hall of Carterville; nieces and nephews, Lois Elliott, Sandra Rogulich, Debbie Adams, Melinda Torgerson, Mike (Ronda) Robinson, Danny (Shara) Robinson, Jimmy McKenzie, Terry McKenzie, Iris Glover, and Gary Hicks; and several great nieces and nephews. Velda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Ruby, who died in infancy, and Jean McKenzie Thomas; brother, William “Bill” McKenzie; sister-in-law, Wilma Chew; and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Robinson Jr., Dean Thomas and Billy Wayne Chew.

She was a faithful member of Crainville Baptist Church for over 50 years. Velda worked at American Magnetics for over 27 years. She loved her family dearly and spending time with them.

Velda enjoyed with her flowers and was an excellent cook.
