Veldon E. Oliver, 98, of Greenfield, IN passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in Greenfield. The Scottsville, KY native was a graduate of Mt. Victory and Scottsville High Schools, WWII Army veteran, member of Mt.

Union General Baptist Church, Blue Lodge #126 F & A M in Indianapolis, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. He was retired from Chevrolet Commercial Body in 1980 and continued working and became a very successful car salesman. He was a son of the late Bradford Oliver and Lola Smith Oliver and husband of the late Julita Devine Oliver.

He is survived by a niece: Michelle Anderson (Greg); 3 nephews: Weldon Helstrom (Sheryl), Marc Lawrence (Tammy) and Matthew Lawrence (Delores); A companion of 22 years: Arletta Bowman. He was preceded in death by a brother: Weldon Oliver and 3 sisters: Leopha Hearn, Betty House and Patty Lawrence. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with David Woods officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20.

Visitation will be after 12:00 noon Friday at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, IN or the Hancock County Shrine Club.
