Obituary for Velen Pena Velen Pena, 85, of Cheyenne, died on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Cheyenne. She was born on August 3, 1932 in Big Spring, Texas. Velen was a cook at many area restaurants and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Mary Cavinder, Margie Roybal (Dicky), John Serrano Jr. (Anne), Loretta Pino (Greg), Joseph Serrano (Bernadette), Christina Gebicki (Stan); three sisters, Susie, Juanita, and Mona; a brother, Pete Guerrero; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Velen was preceded in death by a son, Tony Serrano; a grandson, Gino Trujillo; and her parents, Jesus and Severa Mora. Vigil for the Deceased will be Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.

Funeral Liturgy will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Velen Pena please visit our Sympathy Store.
