Obituary for Velma H. “Nanner” Matthews Funeral services for Velma H. “Nanner” Matthews, age 87, of White Plains, will be Saturday, July 28, 2018, 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church White Plains. Bro Eric Snider and Bro Earl Ryser will be officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Mrs. Matthews passed away on Wednesday at her residence. Survivors include her son, Jerrell Campbell (Katrenia), daughters; Shirley”Sissy” Jones (Floyd), Cynthia “Cindy” Farley (Loren), Joyce Mayo, brothers; Carson Heath (Geraldine), Rayford Heath (Regina), sister, Norma Lee Popham, grandchildren; Michelle O’Brien (Michael), Tristan Mayo, Brooklyn Mayo, Colten Farley, Austin Farley, Kevin Moon (Allison), Garrett Campbell great grandchildren; Anna O’Brien, Weston, Wyatt and Waelyn Moon, several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Loren Farley, Floyd Jones, Curtis Mayo, Tristan Mayo, Colten Farley, Cale Dingler, and honorary pallbearer will be Austin Farley. Mrs. Matthews was a native of Talladega County, lived in White Plains since 2000. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shannon Moon, brothers; Bill Heath, Waymon Heath, Buddy Heath, Stanley Heath, Richard Heath, O.V. Heath, and a sister, Nalgie Barnes.
