Obituary for Mr. Carl ‘Rod’ Beecham funeral service for Mr. Carl ‘Rod’ Beecham, 73, of Oxford, will be on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on the same day from 11:00 am until service time. Mr. Beecham passed away on September 20, 2018.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 51 years, Legatha Beecham; children, Angela Beecham and Roger Beecham (Tammy); grandchildren, Amanda Beecham, Erica Beecham; siblings, Jean Fincher, Ann Jobson (James), Trisha Howell (Charles), Bobbie Joe Hamlin, Linda Zickafoose (Eddie), Tena Clay, and multiple nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Inez Beecham and Richard ‘Hoot’ Beecham and a brother, Jim Beecham. Mr. Beecham served proudly as a United States Marine in the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart.

After coming home from the war, he began working at Anniston Army Depot where he retired from in 2000. Mr. Beecham loved to cut his grass and be in his garden. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop.

Mr. Beecham would do anything for his family. They were his pride and joy. Mr. Beecham was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him.
