Obituary for Mr. Charles LaTaste A funeral service for Mr. Charles LaTaste, 81, of Oxford, will be on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Dr. John White officiating. The family will receive friends on the same day from noon until service time. Burial will follow the service at Dogwood Trail Memorial Gardens.

Mr. LaTaste passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Joyce LaTaste; daughter, Penny LaTaste; sister, Betty Zaner; brother, Billy LaTaste; sister, Mildred Pelt; brother in law, Bryant Willingham; sisters in law, Faye LaTaste and JoAnn LaTaste, and a host of extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Bertha LaTaste; siblings, Helen LaTaste Willingham, Eugene LaTaste, James LaTaste, Alfred LaTaste, and Bobby LaTaste; sister in law, Sharon LaTaste, and a brother in law, Jesse Pelt.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. LaTaste served proudly in the United States Navy where he served overseas. He retired from Anchor Metals in Anniston, Alabama.

After he retired, he worked part time with Garrett Trucking Service and Sunny King Ford. When he was able, he was active in his church where he served as an usher and coached the mens softball team. In his free time, he loved attending car shows and tinkering with his classic cars, which included several Mustangs.

He loved his family dearly and would do anything he could for them.
