Mrs. Velma Louise Reynolds Shepard was born July 7, 1933, to the late Molly Posey and Grant Reynolds in Pell City, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Obie Shepard, one daughter Mrs. Gwendolyn Lane, her parents, one brother Mr. James Reynolds, and four sisters Lucille, Stella, Della Mae, and Lena, all of Pell City, Alabama. Mrs. Shepard attended St. Clair County schools.

And, she was a self-trained beautician. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist, Cropwell and New Beginning , Pell City, where she served as an usher on the Usher Board. She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters: Mrs. Peggy Swain, Mrs. Alesia (Jay) McGowan, both of Pell City, Alabama, Mrs. Beverly (Pat) Scott of Riverside, Alabama, and Mrs. LeCrecia (Edward) McCrimon of Harpersville, Alabama; three sons: Mr. Henry (Wanda) Shepard, and Mr. Brolin Shepard of Pell City, Alabama, and Mr. Tyrone (Rena), of Gate, North Carolina; one brother: Mr. Grant (Ree) Reynolds, Jr. of Pell City, Alabama; one stepson: Mr. Danny (Paulette) Lane of Tuskegee, Alabama; sixteen grandchildren; one special granddaughter: Mrs. Kendra Threatt of Pell City, Alabama; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
