Graveside services for Velma Mearl Nugent, 77, of Diana, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Gum Springs Cemetery, with Bro. James Pegues officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at McWhorter Funeral Home.

Velma was born on February 25, 1942, in Wood County, Texas to Oscar Eugene Coston and Mildred Edith Sparkman Coston and passed from this life on March 3, 2019, in Gladewater, Texas. Survivors include her son, Ronnie Nugent; grandchildren, Kristopher Nugent and Damon Nugent; great grandchildren, Tay Nugent and Meno’ Nugent; and sisters, Peggy Nevill, Glenda Olson and Thelma Pearl Sherrod. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.R. Nugent in July, 2016; and by her son, Lonney Nugent.
