Obituary for Vera King Maxwell “Nanny” Vera King Maxwell “Nanny” Cotton Valley, LA Graveside Services for Vera King Maxwell “Nanny”, age 92, will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Cotton Valley Cemetery, Cotton Valley, LA, with Bro. Gene Gibson officiating. Interment will follow the service under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 3, 2018, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church, Cotton Valley, LA. Mrs. Maxwell was born on November 6, 1926 to William Albert and Bessie King in Plain Dealing, LA and passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Cotton Valley, LA. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, and cooking for her family, especially on Fridays when her family showed up for “Nanny” Day.

She is survived by two grandsons, Trey Maxwell and wife, Melinda of Sarepta, LA, Trent Maxwell and fiance, Penny of Sarepta, LA; Daughter In-law, Judy Hicks Maxwell of Cotton Valley, LA; two great-granddaughters, Maci Ayers and husband Brock of Springhill, LA, Meagan Maxwell of Sarepta, LA; great-grandson, Gunner Maxwell of Sarepta, LA; sister, Hazel Lou Maxwell of Cotton Valley, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herman S. Maxwell; her son, Sidney Maxwell; her parents; sister, Eva Jane Bell; and brothers, Carvel King, Johnny King, and Madie King Pallbearers will be, Trey Maxwell, Trent Maxwell, Gunner Maxwell, and Brock Ayers.
