Obituary for Vernon Ray Sutton Vernon “Turnip” Sutton, 85, of Poplar Bluff, MO, formerly of Annapolis, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born August 10, 1933 in Lesterville, MO, to parents Raymond and Jessie (Weltie) Sutton. Vernon married Alice Jane Talley on March 31, 1956, and to this union one son was born.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Vernon proudly served our country in the Army for two years. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters: Katherine Middleton and Juanita Middleton. Vernon is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years; son: Duane Sutton of Poplar Bluff, MO; sisters: Anna Lou Midkiff and husband Earl of Piedmont, MO, Verlina Middleton and husband Doyle of Piedmont, MO, and Faith Hamilton and husband Sam of Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be held Friday, November 30, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at Mountain View Cemetery, Des Arc, MO.
