Obituary for Victor Shea Irl Victor Shea III, age 63 of Chiang Mai, Thailand and Dallas, Texas, passed away April 15, 2018. He was born August 4, 1954, in Levelland, TX, to Irl Victor II and Mary (Chevaillier) Shea. Vic’s career was as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and then received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. While at UT he was a member of the gymnastics team. He also performed with a professional ballet company.

A voracious reader, he loved beautiful music, good movies, and laughter. He was fluent in four languages. Victor Shea was a very kind, thoughtful, and gentle man who helped many people with both his time and money.

A good friend, Louis Kelly, suggested one year that they take a tour of Southeast Asia. They did so and Vic took many more trips there. He fell in love with the cultures there and the people.

When he retired he moved to Chiang Mai. His years there were wonderful. His family is grateful to all of his dear friends in Thailand and Laos.

Vic was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by sisters, Cathy McDow and husband David, and Sally Shea and husband Rex Rittmann II, all of Richardson, TX. He will be truly missed by his family and friends, but always cherished in their hearts.
