Violet Rose Freeman, 97, of Palmyra Township, passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born on February 11, 1921 in Cleveland, the daughter of James and Viola (Lehky) Novak. On December 9, 1939 in Covington, KY Arnold Freeman and Violet Novak were united in marriage.

He preceded her in death on November 20, 2002. Besides being a homemaker she had been employed by National Can and was a school teacher at Cleveland Central Catholic. Violet was a member of Lake Brady United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, gardening and Polka Dancing. Cherished memories of Violet will be carried on by son Robert (Diana) Freeman of Ravenna, daughters Sandra Pataki of Davie, FL, Patricia Lewis of Jupiter, FL, Pamela (Bill) Bond of Orlando, FL, Peggy (Harry) Dennison of Aurora, and Barbara (Karl) Balasz of Newton Falls, sisters Evelyn Martin of Lehigh Acres, FL and Jackie Jedlik of Cape Coral, FL, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a great, great grandchild is expected in May. Violet was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, and brother Leonard Novak.

A celebration of Violet’s life will be held at Lake Brady United Methodist Church at a future date. Arrangements are being handled by the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls.
