Obituary for Virgie L. Horne Virgie L. Horne, 78, of Summerville, widow of CMSg. Frank Horne (USAF), passed away on September 28, 2018 at Life Care Center of Charleston, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Mrs. Horne was born on February 9, 1940, in Buffalo, SC, to the late Kathleen Boulware Fisher and James Dallas Fisher.

She was a 1958 graduate of Union High School. She married Frank Horne and enjoyed being an Air Force wife for fifty-one years until Chief Horne’s death in 2011. They enjoyed numerous assignments for the United States Air Force in Savannah, Greenville, Norfolk, and California before Mr. Horne’s final duty station at the Charleston Air Force Base where he retired.

They enjoyed entertaining the Generals and their wives when they came to Charleston and their favorite song was Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”. Mrs. Horne retired as executive secretary from Alcoa at Mt. Holly.

She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Mrs. Horne was predeceased by her father, James Dallas Fisher, who was killed in combat during World War II, her brother Dallas Ronald Fisher, and her brother Curtis Maze Eller of Union, South Carolina. Mrs. Horne is survived by her son Marc Franklin Horne of Summerville, his wife Jenny, and their two children, Nicholas and Maggie.

She is also survived by her brother Arley Andrew Eller, Theresa Eller Boiter, and Marlene Eller Whitehead of Union, SC. The family will receive friends at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville from 4 to 6 o’clock on Sunday, September 30, 2018. A homegoing service will be held at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel at 1 o’clock Monday, October 1, 2018 followed by burial in Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville.
