Virgil G. Rabe, 83, of Wintersville, Ohio died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Trinity West ER. He was born June 7, 1935 in Steubenville a son of the late Fred & Carolyn Bushmier Rabe. He retired from Weirton Steel Co. Tin Mill; was a member of 25 Year Club and Jefferson County Sportsmans.

Virgil served in USMC during the Korean War. Preceding Virgil in death were his siblings Floyd, Delmas, Rhoda & Freda. Virgil is survived by his wife Carol L. Hoover Rabe; stepdaughters Jody Taylor-Pownall & Kim Stover; eight grandchildren Melissa, Thomas (Stephanie) & Matthew Hutter; Lindsey, Brennan, & Ethan Stover; Hannah Roberts and Katlin (Eric) Hughes; four great granddaughters Adalynn, Alexandra, Zara & Ayla; sisters Verna Patterson & Elma Schoppe.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 1-4 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Tom Bullard officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
