Virginia Archer Liddle, 91, of Otego passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on November 12, 1922 in Andes, NY. She attended Andes Central School where she graduated in 1940 and went on to graduate from Albany Business College and Hartwick College.

She was married to Robert F. Liddle of Bovina on May 22, 1941, at the Bovina Center Presbyterian Manse with the Rev. Harvey McClellan officiating. Virginia and Robert lived in Sidney where… Read More » they were employed by the Scintilla Magneto Company.

Ginny and Bob subsequently lived in Laurens. Ginny and Bob moved to their last home, on Briar Creek Road, Otego in 1966, where she lived until 2014. Bob predeceased her in 1994.

She was a long-time member of the Gilbertsville Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Gilbertsville American Legion Auxiliary, and was a friend of the Gilbertsville Baptist Church. Ginny is survived by her daughter Patricia (Calvin ) Cobb of Daytona Beach Florida; her son Frederic Liddle and his friend Janet Palmer of Otego; her granddaughters, Corinne Morton (Russell) of Willseyville, NY, Hilary Pope of Garrattsville; Great grandchildren Autumn and Hannah Pope of Garrattsville and Dolan Morton of Willseyville, NY. She is also survived by nephews Allan Davidson of Phoenixville, PA and Ed Archer’s family of Sebring, Florida and Devon and Jean Schreiner Warrenton, VA.

Ginny was predeceased by her sisters Agnes Archer Frei and Helen Archer; her brother Harry Davie. A Calling hour will be held at the Gilbertsville Baptist church in Gilbertsville on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM with a memorial service officiated by Rev. Randy Palada to immediately follow.

A burial of ashes will take place on Friday, July 7, 2018, 11:00AM at the Bovina Center Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gilbertsville Baptist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Tianderah charter, Gilbertsville, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
