(White) McCarter, 91, formerly of Schnecksville, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at Colonial Park Care Center, Harrisburg. She was the wife of the late Robert E. McCarter, Sr. Born in Philadelphia, November 20, 1927, Virginia was the daughter of the late Gavin and Elizabeth (Carr) White. She was a graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia, and in her later years became a Registered Nurse, attending Montgomery County Community College.

Virginia was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Being very artistic, she loved to draw and paint. Virginia was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Slatington.

Survivors: Children, Nancy D. Heit (Michael) of Harrisburg, Robert E. McCarter, Jr. of Monson, ME; son-in-law, Robert E. Brown, Sr. of Schnecksville; brother, Gavin White Jr. of Bensalem; grandchildren, Aaron Heit, Jeremy Heit, Juliet Brown, Robert Brown, Jr., David McCarter, Kathryn McCarter; three great grandchildren; predeceased by a daughter, Janis L. Brown and a brother, David White. Service: Funeral services will be held 10:30 am. Monday, February 18, 2019 at Heidelberg Union Church, 5187 Irvin Road, Slatington, with the Rev.

Karen A. Yonney officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 – 10:30 am. Monday in the church.

Interment will follow the service at Heidelberg Union Cemetery. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.
