Obituary for Virginia F. Schultz Age 89, of New Lenox, passed away at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Virginia is survived by her three children, son Edward (Joan) Schultz of Shorewood, and her daughters Cynthia Schultz and Leslie (Michael) Daniels of New Lenox. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Heather Daniels, Stefanie (Michael) McPhail; Scott (Amanda) Schultz, Eric Schultz (Adriana Popovich-fiancee) and Laura Schultz.

She is the proud great-grandmother of Raelynn McPhail. Her cousin June (Robert) Lindsay also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward W. Schultz (1985) and her parents Allan C. Farr and Ruth Nielsen (nee Benson).

Virginia graduated from Hirsch High School in Chicago in 1946. She married Edward W. Schultz in Chicago on February 4, 1950. They were long-time members of the Southside Swedish Club.

Virginia retired from the office of the Will County State’s Attorney in 2010 after 33 years as a paralegal, mental health advocate and paternity advocate. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed attending the many activities of her children and grandchildren. Virginia was an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress and loved traveling, especially cruises.

Lying in State at First Presbyterian Church, 805 Western Avenue, Joliet on Saturday, August 11th from 9:00 a.m. until services at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Craig M. Herr officiating. Interment at Elmhurst Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Presbyterian Church, Trinity Services or Cornerstone Services will be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd. , Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Virginia F.
