Virginia “GiGi” Buglione Galardi of Hamden died peacefully on January 10, 2019 at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale surround by her family that loved her. She was the beloved wife of the late Dominic J. Galardi. GiGi was born in Bridgeport on June 8, 1931 to the late Anthony and Antoinette Buglione.

In her younger days she enjoyed her work at Sperry & Barnes. She was devoted to her family and loved having them together for Sunday dinner where they would tell stories and share laughs over macaroni and meatballs. GiGi always enjoyed reminiscing about her days on Wooster Street and her Park Street family.

She had a big heart and was seen as a second mother and grandmother to many. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with her siblings, whether watching baseball games or going to the casino, they were best friends and shared a bond of unconditional love and friendship. She was cherished by many and will be missed by those that knew her, including her hairdresser and the staff at IHOP and Town House and she loved them in return.

GiGi was the loving and devoted mother of AnnaLynn (Stephen) Wheeler and Anthony (Donna) Galardi. She was the loving sister of Carol (late Donald) Mazzarelli and Michael (Ann) Buglione She was very proud of her grandchildren Terry Galardi, Chris (Nadine) Nelson, Laurie (Bobby) Bankowski, Michelle (Steve) Fredericks, Stephen (Lexi) Wheeler, Anthony (Alyssa) Galardi, Jr., Daniel (Debora) Wheeler and Michael Galardi and her great grandchildren Megan, Gianna, Ashley, Dylan, Samantha, Adriana, Laila, Mia, Dominic, Joseph and Wyatt. GiGi also had a special relationship with the Wheeler family and her nieces and nephews: Barbara Ann (Ralph), Carol (Robert), Tony (Jane), Alice, Ernie (Mickey), Donna, Louis (Tracey) and many other beloved relatives.

Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-8pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
