Virginia “Ginger Dell” Bates, 69 of Liberty, MS, bid farewelll to this life on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. Visitation for Ginger Dell will be held Friday 4pm until 6pm at Craft Funeral Home in McComb. Her funeral service will be held Saturday 3:30pm at Mt.

Sinai Baptist Church in Liberty, MS. Rev. Jehu White will officiate the service, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bates, who was lovingly known as Ginger Dell, was born April 26, 1950 to Mr. Royan Winding, Jr. and Mrs. Rosie Lee Robinson-Winding. During her life, she touched many lives with her jovial, outgoing, loving, and giving personality. she was always happy, high spirited, and willing to help feed anyone.

She will long be remembered ans being an entrepreneur at the Yellow Hill, as a manager and owner of the Tamers Baseball and Softball teams, as a supervisor at the Jr. Food Mart, as a member of the Ladies of Ebony Social Club, and as a specialty cook to many far and near. She was well known for her famous potato pies. Ginger is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Bobby Lewis Winding, Ulysses Winding, and Jessie Winding; 2 sisters, Williemenar Writt and Cathleen Galloway.

She leaves to mourn her transitioning, her devoted and loving husband of 30 years, Arthur Bates; 1 son, Xeivera (Angela) Winding of Summit, MS; 3 daughters, Meneka Stepter, Treneka Bates of Liberty, MS and Krystal (Jeremy) Minor of Zachary, LA; 8 grandchildren, Miciah Bates, Treniah Spears, Miguel Bates, Xeiveshia Winding, Kassidy Minor, Jeremy Minor, Kaylie Minor and PaTara Martin; 1 great grandchild, XeiNaire Everett; 4 sisters, Dorothy (Bobby) Hamilton, Evelaner Bates, Rowanner (Elder James) Allen and Betty Winding, all of Liberty, MS; 2 brothers, Thomas Winding and Charles (Tijwana) Winding, both of Liberty, MS; a special sister, Leontine Dennis of New Orleans, LA; 2 god daughters, Tammy Johnson of Jackson, MS and Jennifer Johnson of New Orleans, LA; 1 god son, Kendrell Horton of McComb, MS, 2 sisters-in-law, Artha Mease Williams and Mary Winding; several brothers-in-law, Ladies of Ebony Social Club members, former baseball and softball team members, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
