Bowlin, 93, a resident of Smithdale, MS passed away May 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 25, 1926 in Franklin County, Mississippi to William Lee Bowlin and Rettie Mae Jernigan Bowlin. Visitation will be Sunday May 19, 2019 from 1:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM at Mt.

Olive Baptist Church in Smithdale. Rev. Ted Bowlin and Rev.

Eric Moak will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Bowlin was a member of Mt.

Olive Baptist Church. He served as a deacon of the church. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served in WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He worked for Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez for over thirty-eight years. He is preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters; Hazel Donaldson, Georgia Thornton, Doris Deas, and Marguerite Pringle. Mr. Bowlin is survived by his wife, Maer Nell Cloy Bowlin of Smithdale, a son and daughter-in-law; Steve and Debbie Bowlin, three daughters and sons-in-law; Carolyn and David Fenn of Smithdale, Ann and Phillip Wicker of Brookhaven and Connie and Dwayne Bankston of Summit, two brothers and a sister-in-law; Pearlie and Morese Bowlin of Smithdale and Claude Bowlin of Brookhaven, a sister; Hilda Ham of Smithdale, eight grandchildren; Dan Fenn, Beth Fenn of McNeely (Morgan), Lori Wroten (Dusty), Casey Lott, Andy Morris, Jonah Bankston, Aaron Bowlin, and Sarah Andre (Dustin), twelve great grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. John B. Bowlin’s name may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church or the Leukemia Foundation. SERVICES Visitation Sunday, May 19, 2019 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Mt.
