Benson, NC: Mrs. Virginia Gregory McCabe, age 88, of Elevation Road died Friday July 27, 2018 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday July 30, 2018 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel, Benson. Officiating will be Rev.

Bobby Caudle. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. Mrs. McCabe was born September 22, 1929 in Vance County to the late Pearl Inez Horton Gregory.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Rudolph McCabe; son-in-law, Terry Batten; step-brother and sister, Tommy Higgins and Helen Eason. Mrs. McCabe retired from Erwin and Burlington Mills where she worked in textiles. She was a member of Community Chapel Church.

Surviving are children & spouses, Sherwood McCabe and wife, Lesa of Hampstead, Debbie McCabe Parrish and husband, Andy of Benson, and Sheila McCabe Batten of Four Oaks; grandchildren and spouses, Jason Parrish and wife, Tracey of Benson, Chase Batten and wife, Jamie of Benson, Sawyer Batten Gordon and husband, Clay of Denver, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Peyton Andrew Parrish, Lexie Grace Parrish, Taylor Grace Ricks, Cassidy Anne Batten, and Joseph Manley Batten; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive family and friends at the home of Debbie and Andy Parrish, 5542 Elevation Road Benson, NC 27504 and following the committal service at Roselawn Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to SECU Hospice House P.O. Box 1376 Smithfield, NC 27577.
