Our loving mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019. Age 84 years. She was born on January 28, 1935, daughter of the late Eva (Dougherty) and Julius Flathau, in Saginaw.

Virginia was a graduate of Central Michigan University having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. For many years she taught at Saginaw Public Schools, St. Peter and Paul Catholic School and St. Casmir Catholic School. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Virginia loved art and enjoyed drawing and painting. She also enjoyed playing the piano and vacationing in Tawas. Virginia was a devoted grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughter, Andrea (Dave) Barron; her grandchildren, Katie, Kristopher and Kelsey Barron. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
