Obituary of Virginia Callaghan Virginia Lee Callaghan (nee Albert) Age 88, of Shorewood, IL, passed peacefully at home Wednesday June 13, 2018. She was born November 17, 1929, to the late Celia (nee Alberico) and Salvatore Albert in Joliet, IL, and had resided in the Joliet area her entire life. Beloved mother of Lee Anne Fletcher of Phoenix, AZ.

, Lynn (Clif) Spears of Ocala, FL and Thomas W. Callaghan (Laura L. Nicinski) of Manhattan, IL; loving grandmother of Tracy (Tom) Sanders, Jonathan Vance and Sarah Elayna Fletcher; proud great grandmother of Emily Sanders; dear sister of Connie (Paul) Schneider and Jack Albert; and fond sister-in-law of Judy Callaghan and Margaret (Jim) Gregorich. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Callaghan; her parents; sister, Violet Vanchina; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Matthew and Anna Callaghan; and brother-in-law, Robert Callaghan.

Virginia was a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. She enjoyed painting, especially lighthouses, and animals. Funeral services for Virginia Lee Callaghan will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2018, 9:15 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds.

, Joliet, to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave. , Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
