Obituary for Vivian Kathleen Campbell Patterson Vivian Kathleen Campbell Patterson, 88, loving wife of the late Talmadge Melmoth Patterson of Enoree, SC, passed away on December 31, 2018 at her home. Vivian was born on January 13, 1930 in the Gray Court Community to Albert Taylor and Letha Graydon Campbell. She graduated from Gray Court Owings High School in 1946.

Vivian and Mell married on July 10, 1949 and celebrated 69 wonderful years of marriage. After graduation, Vivian worked several years at the Laurens Glass Plant and the Laurens Hosiery Mill. In 1956 she helped her husband and his partners found Patterson Vermiculite Company which they operated for 40 years.

Vivian was a long-time member of Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church where she held numerous positions within the church. She was the president of the Patterson Chapel Ladies Guild, treasurer of the Patterson Chapel UMW, and church financial secretary. Vivian is survived by her three children: William Melmoth (Bill) Patterson of Laurens, Kay Patterson Powell (Richard) of Anderson, James Robert (Robin) Patterson (Jennifer) of Enoree.

She loved being Grandma to her three granddaughters: Kathryn Irene Powell of Rock Hill, Kathleen Alyce Powell of Anderson, Maggie Lee Patterson of Enoree; a family friend, Jim Miller; four brothers, Jerry Campbell, Wayne Campbell, Harold Campbell, Mike Campbell and two sisters, Dorothy Wood and Nancy Knight. She is predeceased by her husband, and her parents. The family extends a sincere thank you to all her many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3 at 4 PM at Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church in Lanford, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 3 PM to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church, PO Box 1643, Laurens, SC 29360 c/o Joy Staton.
