Wallace Augustine Bickett, 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House. Wally was born in Morganfield, Kentucky on March 5, 1933 to the late James Earl and Margaret (Miller) Bickett. He attended St. Vincent Academy.

Later, Wally honorably served in the United States Marine Corp. While serving at Camp Lejuene, he served in the 2nd Division, Fleet Marine Force Atlantic, 4th Battalion, 10th Marines and in the Philippines served… Read More » in the U.S. Navy Amphibious Force, 6th Fleet. Upon his return home, Wally worked as a dance instructor and later worked at Chrysler and Peerless Pottery as a welder and sheet metal worker, retiring from Industrial Contractors.

He enjoyed woodworking and crafting with leather. Wally was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Wally is survived by his daughters, Jan Bickett of Evansville, IN, Ginger Ruth Bickett Fox (Ron) of FL and Annette Flener (Ron) of Evansville, IN; sons, Earl Bickett of Evansville, IN and Darren Bickett (Amy) of Evansville, IN; sisters, Margaret Ann Bard, Judith Orenduff and Faye Peterson; brothers, James Earl Bickett, Edward Bickett, Phillip Bickett, Ben Bickett and Aaron Bickett; and grandchildren, Jessica Lu, Sarah Bickett, Thomas Fox, Shaelagh Fox, Jacob Bickett and Evan Bickett.

Wally was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Janet (Weber) Bickett in 2017; his parents; step-father, Aaron Bickett; sisters, Jane Miller, Rose Schurek and Mary Pierson; and brothers, Charles Bickett and Donald Bickett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 N. Stockwell Rd. , Evansville, IN 47715 with Father Zach Etienne celebrating.

Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
