He went to be with his “Lord and Savior and Loved Ones! ” He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Gilda Hanicek; son, Jason Hanicek; a sister, Rosalie Kelley, and other relatives and friends.

His closest friend of many years was Jeffrey Zwahr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Wanda Hanicek, and a sister, Katherine Gillaspie. Walter worked in the oil fields 43 years as a truck driver and pusher before he retired.

Tabatha, his dog he loved so much, will be running with joy to see her daddy again. I am sharing some of the tribute our son wrote to his dad. “I believe life is about making great memories.

Even simple things end up great memories. I love you so much! !

! I’m so glad you are my dad! !

! I am so proud to be to be a Hanicek! !

! All of me loves all of you! !

! Love, Jason”. A private celebration of life will be at a later time with loved ones.
