Obituary for Walter “Wally” Freihaut Freihaut, Walter “Wally”, of House Springs, Missouri was born December 18, 1923, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Leo and Cecilia (nee Witte) Freihaut and entered into rest, Wednesday, November 29th, 2018 at the age of 94 years. He is preceded in death by, his parents, his wife Genevieve Marie (nee Halmich) and his Great-Grandchild Tyler Shane Freihaut, He is survived by, Four (4) Children, Gary (Carol) Freihaut, Stephen (Pat) Freihaut, Ronald Freihaut, and Jerome (Diana) Freihaut, Twelve (12) Grandchildren, Shane Freihaut, Angel (David) McDowell, Joshua (Krystal) Freihaut, Jeramey (Katrina) Freihaut, Nena (Greg) VonderHaar, Adam Freihaut, Justin Best, Jasara Freihaut, John “Buck” (Haley) Freihaut, Jamie Frank, Justin (Sarah) Freihaut, and Daniel Freihaut, Eleven (11) Great-Grandchildren, Caleb, Dylon, Alexyss, Bryson, Emaleah, Connor, Johnny, Marley, Jurnye, Jaxyon, and Justyce, Two (2) Siblings, Norman Freihaut and Norbert Freihaut, and many other family and friends. Walter was a Navy veteran serving time during World War II.
He retired from McDonnell Douglas after 55 years as an aircraft mechanic. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Machinist Union. Walter lived a full life and will be remembered as an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, baker, poet, and for his love of playing horse shoes and practical jokes.
Walter was a devout Catholic, a pillar of the community, and will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri. Interment Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:15 a.m. at ST. PHILOMENA CATHOLIC CEMETERY, House Springs, Missouri. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Walter’s Great-Granddaughter’s Recovery Fund for Alexyss McDowell.
