Waneva Marie Huffman of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Funeral Services for Waneva Huffman will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the First Church of God; 115 Indiana; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Visitation will be the same day, 9:30 until 10:30 am Wednesday, May 30, 2018 also at the First Church of God in Iowa Falls.

Waneva Marie Benda was born March 4, 1922 to Edward Charles and Theodora Louise [Buchanow] Benda. She attended the country schools in Hardin and Franklin County before graduating from the Iowa Falls High School in 1939. In the early 1940’s she was united in marriage Donald Earl Lange in Hampton Iowa.

He later passed away when he was 30 years old. On December 15, 1946 she was united in marriage to Russell ‘Jack’ Oliver Huffman. She was baptized in 1952 at the First Baptist Church in Eldora, Iowa.

During her life Waneva was a cake decorator for 30 years. She also worked at Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator. She worked at Sonny’s Furniture and Huffy’s Carpet.

Of course she was the best sales lady ever. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Post #188, Pioneer Telephone Girls NWB, and a member of Craft and Chat and a Patient Advocate Board Member at Heritage Care Center. Those left to cherrish the memories of Waneva Huffman are her children: Sherry Crosser of Eldora, Iowa, Linda Jones of Bellevue, Nebraska, Donald ‘Sonny’ and Carolyn Lange of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Edward Huffman of Ames, Iowa; a sister: Shirley Hansen of Iowa Falls; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren (with one on the way).

Waneva Huffman has gone on to join her parents: Edward and Theodora Benda; her first husband: Donald Earl Lange; her husband: Russel Jack Huffman; her daughter: Kathleen Huffman Hunt; a sister: Phyllis Bray; a grandaughter: Lisa Lange; a grandson: Daniel Lange; a step-daughter: Sharron Hudson; and son-in-law Jerry Jones.
