Ward’s Obituary Howes Cave (Schoharie County): Ward R. Lawyer, Sr. 81, of Sagendorf Corners Road passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 14th at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. Ward was born April 15, 1938 in Howes Cave, NY , raised by his grandparents, Leon and Emma (Coons) Lawton and graduated from Cobleskill High School class of 1957. He operated a dairy farm for many years before starting a long career with the General Electric Co. where he retired in 1995 as an inspector in the Turbine Dep’t.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. Survivors include his wife Joyce, his children; Tracy Lynn Lawyer and Ward R. Lawyer, Jr. both of Howes Cave, his grandson; Ward R. Lawyer, III, his two sisters; Emma Jean Slater and Rosemary Lawyer both of Howes Cave and his niece, Karen J. Slater also of Howes Cave. He will also be missed by his faithful canine companion, “Jack”.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 23rd, at the Middleburgh Cemetery where all are welcome to attend. The Langan Funeral Home of Schoharie is assisting the Lawyer family.
