Wayne Eugene Hoover of Carlisle passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in his home Saturday, March 16, 2019. Wayne was born November 22, 1934, to Colvin and Bessie (Frye) Hoover in Lodges Corner, Arkansas. He married his school sweetheart Bernice (Goldman) Hoover September 22, 1952, spending sixty-six wonderful years together.

He is preceded in death by his infant son, Phillip Wayne Hoover. Wayne was a loving father to Gwen (Jim) Zimmerman, Cindy (Paul) Wittman, and Steven (Michelle) Hoover; a grandpa to Chris Zimmerman, Phillip Dabbs, Michael Dabbs, Hunter Hoover, and Haydn (Ashley) Hoover; and a great-grandpa to Zachary Zimmerman, Sally Zimmerman, and Blair Hoover. He is survived by one brother and two sisters.

Visitation is Wednesday, March 20, from 12pm-1pm at Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church. Service will be at 1pm with graveside immediately following at Carlisle Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or donor’s choice.
