Wayne Martin Ley, age 62, of Huntington, Indiana, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington. He was born on July 31, 1955 in Portage, Wisconsin to Calvin Martin Ley and Mary Ann Elvira (Siekmann) Ley. His family moved to Bluffton, Indiana at age 10 and he graduated from Bluffton High School in 1973.

He married Kathy Ann Beckler on August 2, 1975 at the First United Church of Christ in Bluffton. Wayne was employed for 35 years with the Indiana Department of Natural Res as the assistant property manager at the Salamonie Reservoir. He was an active member of Union Church near Huntington where he loved serving God by ushering and taking up the offering for worship services.

He enjoyed singing in the church choir at the Good Shepherd Church in years past. For many years, Wayne spent his free time collecting Indian artifacts. He was also a Boy Scout leader in the past.

Survivors include: Wife, Kathy Ley of Huntington. Son, Aaron and Victoria Ley of Noblesville. Son, Andrew and Stephenie Ley of Fort Wayne.

Daughter, Allissa and Jared McMullen of Fort Wayne. Nine grandchildren: Gabe Castillo, Dominic Hawkins, Petra Ley, Iris Ley, Laurel Ley, Eliana McMullen, Emersyn McMullen, Easton McMullen, and Journee Castillo. Mother, Mary Ann Ley of Muncie.

Brother, Bruce and Teresa Ley of Ossian. Sister, Barbara and Bill Broyles of Eaton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Ley in 2013.

Visitation and the funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Union Church, 3688 E. 400 N., Huntington, Indiana 46750. Visitation will take place from 3:00 – 5:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM at Union Church. Pastor Mark Hoffer will officiate the service.

Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 1700 West Park Drive, Huntington. Pallbearers will be Aaron Ley, Andrew Ley, Jared McMullen, Gabe Castillo, Bruce Ley, and Mark Grove. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Beckler, Tim Beckler, and Bill Broyles.
