Wendi L. Dunbar, 53, peacefully left this Earth on July 26, 2018. Wendi, aka Pooh, will be kept alive in spirit by her loving and devoted son, Cameron Clark (Carley Young), parents, Sonny and Vera Dunbar, brother, Keith (Michelle) Dunbar, sister, Lisa Ricard, nephews Ben and Connor Dunbar, niece Abby Ricard, brother-in-law, Stacey Ricard, uncle Bobby (Carolyn) Dunbar, and cousins, Traci (David) Holcomb, and Travis Dunbar, and so many family members and friends that loved her beyond words. Keith, Wendi, Lisa, Traci and Travis were affectionately known as The Dunbar 5.

This bond was of brothers and sisters, not cousins. Wendi was always, always smiling and had a kiss and a hug to give everyone she saw. She was a lover of the color pink, an avid Clemson Tiger fan, and Pittsburg Steeler fan.

She loved to dance, see every blockbuster movie ever made, but most of all spending time with her family on Dunbar Hill. Many, many days came and went during her colorful lifetime, and her proudest, crowning moment was the birth of her son, Cameron on September 20, 1989. He is, was and will always be her entire world.

After becoming a mother, Wendi, went back to Midlands Technical College and gained her degree in Respiratory Therapy. Her career has spanned many local hospitals where she was devoted to her patients and cared for her co-workers like family. She is loved and will be missed by many in Respiratory Care field.

We would like to give special thanks to the Respiratory Care Staff at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, Jessica Wade with the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and Robert Lollar with Barr-Price Funeral Homes. Wendi’s celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 11:00 am at Florence Baptist Church, Pelion, South Carolina. We encourage you to wear something pink in honor of her sparkling smile and beautiful soul.
