OBITUARY Wesley “Sonny” Harriston Brown Jr. October 17, 1957 – July 11, 2018 Wesley Harriston “Sonny” Brown, Jr. 60, of Crimora went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Augusta Health. He was born in Waynesboro on October 17, 1957 the son of Wesley Harriston, Sr. and Betty Anne (Fisher) Brown. Sonny worked as a jack of all trades and was mostly known as a backyard mechanic.
Hunting, fishing, and dirt track racing were a few of his favorite hobbies. He loved spending time around family and had a caring heart for animals. Sonny will also be remembered for his sometimes stubborn personality; as well as being a loving, caring, and loyal person.
In addition to his father, Sonny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Brown; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Alice Fisher; brothers, Mickey and Carl Brown. In addition to his mother, left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Megan and Morgan Brown of Crimora; siblings, Mark Brown and wife, Tammy of Waynesboro, Earline Coffey and husband, Jimmy of Waynesboro, Tammy Varner and husband, George of Fishersville and Charity Hall of Waynesboro; nieces and nephews, Angelia Coffey, Rachel Brown, Samuel Brown, Aaron Brown, Christopher Brown, Jacob Brown, Stephanie Dovel, Karen Coffey, Jimmy Coffey, Jr., Nina Varner, Jason Varner, Chase Hall, and Felisha “Alisha” Hall; the mother of his children, Sheila Brown; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Sonny also leaves behind his beloved pets, Bear, Lillie, Brie, Sally “the goat”, and Cooper.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Augusta Health and at the UVA Health Services for their loving care of Sonny and his family.
