Obituary for William Anthony “Tony” Brown Sr. William Anthony “Tony” Brown, 76, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home. He was born March 27, 1942 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Odendahl and Ollie Jane Rives Brown. He and Mary Ellen Ballard were married July 16, 1965 at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Owensboro, Kentucky.

He worked on a tow boat for 35 years, where he worked for Luhr Brothers for 25 years. He was a member of Eagles in Cape Girardeau. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Brown of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Therese (Jared) Jones of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer Burns of Cape Girardeau and Joy (Ronnie) Matlock of Hesperia, Michigan; one son, TJ (Jennifer) Brown of Jackson, Missouri; one sister, Janice (Ricky) Warden of Russellville, Kentucky; two brothers, Jim (Laurie) Brown of Spokane, Washington and Avery (Jill) Brown of Auburn, Kentucky; and twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with the Rev.

Pastor Ken Strong officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to River City Workers of the Blind. Online condolences may be made at www.
