Obituary for William ‘Bill’ Cobb William ‘Bill’ Cobb, age 83, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born June 14, 1935 in Oolitic, Indiana, the son of Melvin and Grace (Stigall) Cobb. He married Rita Schon on May 17, 1968 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together.

Bill operated the Checker Gas Station in Lawrenceville and was also a truck driver for Werner Enterprise. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed selling his produce on 15th Street. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, James Bradley Cobb; two brothers, Opal Cobb and Richard Cobb; two sisters, Mary Catherine Oliver and Beulah Burnett; and three grandchildren, Pablo Valadez, Jessica Ann Sharum, and Amber Lacey Lee Sharum.

Survivors include his wife, Rita; two sons, Kyle Cobb and wife, Sherry, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee and William Preston and wife, Terri, of Bedford, Indiana; six daughters, Eva Bagley and husband, Terry, of Manchester, Tennessee, Dora Mullins of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Erika Valadez and husband, Pablo, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Debbie Dowell and husband, Jim, of Henderson, Kentucky, Eudora Watkins of Bedford, Indiana, and Ann Sharum and husband, Bernie, of Tullahoma, Tennessee; three brothers, Webster Cobb and wife, Carolyn, of Mitchell, Indiana, Jim Cobb and wife, Rhonda, of Champaign, Illinois, and Donnie Cobb and wife, Phyllis, of Williams, Indiana; one sister, Darlene Hudson and husband, John, of Bedford, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Private services were conducted.
