Obituary for William Hughes Jr. William Edgar Hughes, Jr., 79, passed away on April 15, 2018 at the Monte Vista Estates in Monte Vista. He was born on April 22, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to William Edgar Hughes, Sr. and Frances Bama Felder Hughes. William was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He truly enjoyed his ministry and was an elder in the Monte Vista congregation. He was a retired school teacher. Part of his career was at Monte Vista High School (1975-1981) where he taught English, Literature and Drama as well as being a pioneer in the school’s computer science program.

He enjoyed long motorcycle trips, electronics, computers and old movies. He will always be remembered for his many acts of kindness and generosity. He is survived by his wife Sharon Hughes, his children, David (Janel) Hughes and Jeff (Tabitha) Hughes, his grandchildren, Dominique and Austin, his sister Anne Broderick and half brother Peter Hughes as well as his mother-in-law, Catherine Shugart.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday April 21, 2018 at the Monte Vista Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. To express condolences, please visit www. rogersfunerals.com Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista is in care of the arrangements.
