William Ford Dillon, Sr., 76, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed from this life surrounded by his family and friends on Monday, January 14, 2019 He was born on June 11, 1942 to Floyd “Pat” and Marbie Ann (Wyatt) Dillon in Brewer Bend. Ford attended Brewer Bend and McLain elementary schools. He graduated from Warner High School in 1959.

He married the love of his life, Janice La Delle Foreman on November 21, 1964. They shared over 54 memorable years together. From this union, they had three wonderful children.

Ford worked very hard to provide for his family, holding down 2 to 3 jobs at a time. He was an assemblyman at Acme Engineering for 38 years until his retirement in May of 2005. He also worked at WP Milling in various areas.

He served in the National Guard for 7 years. Even though Ford worked day and night, his family was very important to him. He always made time for family activities.

He helped coach Little League Baseball, was a Boy Scout Troop Dad, and regularly took his family for trips to Mohawk Park and Woolaroc. He especially enjoyed taking his family to Silver Dollar City every year. Ford loved to plant a big vegetable garden.

He loved baseball and his two favorite baseball teams were the New York Mets and whoever was playing the St. Louis Cardinals. The one thing Ford cherished most of all in his life were his four grandbabies, Carlissa, Brooklyn, Trey, and Blaize. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Marbie; his sisters, Lilly Smith, Loretta Benson, and Diana Dillon; his brothers, Charlie Dillon, Gail Dillon, and Mark Dwain Dillon; his brother-in-law, Jim Benson; his father-in-law, Gene Foreman; and his mother-in-law, Bug Foreman.

Ford is survived by his wife, Janice, of the home; his children, Ford Dillon Jr. and wife, Ann, of Pearland, TX, Kristy Herriman and husband Bobby of McLain, and Steve Dillon of Seattle, WA; his grandchildren, Carlissa Dillon, Ford Dillon III (Trey), Brooklyn Herriman, and Blaize Herriman. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Luther Smith; his sister-in-law, Terry Dillon, his sister-in-law, Natalie Medlin and husband Stanley; his nephews, Paul Vidacak and wife Shannon, Jay Suggs and wife Kelsey, and Cody Medlin; his niece, Lacey Medlin; and special neighbor and cousin, Margie Mayes; as well as numerous family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Fort Gibson Nursing Center and Hometown Hospice for the loving care they provided to him.

A special thanks to Dr. Paul Matthews, Randy and the staff of the Geri Unit at Saint Francis Hospital in Muskogee. Also thank you to Wayne Herriman for keeping our yard looking so pretty. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm, Monday, January 21, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Ford’s life will be 2PM, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery with Ford Dillon Jr, Steven Dillon, Bobby Herriman, Trey Dillon, Blaize Herriman, and Cody Medlin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlissa Dillon, Brooklyn Herriman, Luther Smith, Stanley Medlin, Lacey Medlin, J. B. Herriman, Wayne Herriman, Paul Vidacak, and Jay Suggs.
