Emerson, 84, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019, at his home with family by his side. Visitation will be Monday, February 25th, from 6 pm until 8 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 26th, at 10:30 am, with burial in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline.

Memorials may be made to Fellowship Temple in Silvis, IL. William Ray Emerson was born November 24, 1934, in Vina, AL, son of George and Audie (Mitchell) Emerson. On January 4, 1958, in Fulton, MS, he married Patricia Sims, who preceded him in death September 24, 2016.

He was employed by John Deere Harvester for 30 years, retiring in January of 1997. William was a member of Fellowship Temple in Silvis, IL. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include daughter, Peggy (Michael) Livingston of East Moline; sons, Danny (Martha) Emerson of Cleveland, TN, and Timothy (Florence) Emerson of Englewood, TN; sisters, Glenda Sue Childress and Bonnie Emerson, both of Hamilton, AL; brother, Don Emerson of Hamilton, AL; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, a sister, a son, Benny Emerson, and a grandson, Jerome Emerson.
