William W. “Bill” Curtis II, 65, of Springfield, passed away on December 31, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born June 3, 1953 to Dr. William and Elizabeth (Bradford) Curtis. He married Marysue West on May 30, 1998 in Springfield.

Bill was a graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration. He later earned his MBA from St. Louis University. Bill worked for over 30 years for the U.S. Department of Treasury, OCC Division as a National Bank Examiner, before retiring.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. Bill was captivated by history. He could always be found reading books about Lincoln, Jefferson and Hamilton.

He was a devoted husband, a trustworthy friend, and an overall wonderful and kind human being, He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anne Curtis. Bill is survived by his wife, Marysue; his sisters, Pat Curtis of Chicago and Mary Crain of Springfield as well as a nephew and nieces. Cremation will be accorded.

Per Bill’s wishes, no services will be held.
