Obituary for William W. McGreevy William W. McGreevy, Jr., 57, a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT. Mr. McGreevy was a system analyst for IBM in Southbury, CT for 25 years and later worked at Lincoln Hall Boys Haven in Somers, NY. Born on April 17, 1961 in Bronx, NY he was the son of William W. McGreevy, Sr. and Ellen (Flynn) McGreevy both of Carmel, NY.
Mr. McGreevy was a graduate of Dutchess Community College and later received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from Mercy College. On July 30, 1988 at St. Christopher’s Church in Buchanan, NY he married Sharon Schacklinscky who survives at home. Mr. McGreevy was a member of the Vassar Chess Club and the IBM Alliance.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. McGreevy is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth and Katherine McGreevy both of Wingdale, NY. He is also survived by a sister, Maryanne Eveland of Holmes, NY and a brother, John McGreevy of Carmel, NY. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill St., Dover Plains, NY. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice, 30 Milestone Rd, Danbury, CT 06810.
