Obituary of William Clawson William’ Bill” Clawson, age 85 of Idabel, OK passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Idabel. He was born on December 20, 1932 in Hardin, MT, the son of Evin Clawson and Bertha Howard Clawson. Bill moved to Idabel in 1971 to work at the Valliant Paper Mill.

He had retired from Weyerhaeuser several years ago and begun ranching full time. He enjoyed working his cattle and was a member of the OK Cattlemen’s Association. Bill also served on the Canfield Cemetery Board for many years.

He was an active and faithful member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Bill was a longtime Deacon and served in various other capacities. He also participated in the “Nailbenders” a group that repaired and built churches.

A good Christian man, Bill was willing to help in any way he could. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His joy came from his Lord, spending time with his loving family and work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laura Clawson; a son, Rick Clawson; and sisters, Anna Belle Rogers and Frances Carpenter. Bill is survived by his wife, Daisy Clawson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Joe D Clawson and Darlene of Idabel, OK; daughters and son-in-law, Vonda Sparkman of Pea Ridge, AR and Billie Dunn and Lloyd of Sedalia, MO; a daughter-in-law, Ramona Clawson-Goolsby and Mark of Idabel, OK; step-children, Johnny Reid of Idabel, OK and Susan Gonzalez and Mario of Shreveport, LA; several precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Bro Robert O’Neil and Bro Andrew Riddle officiating.

Interment will follow at the Canfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Bill’s name to the Trinity Baptist Church New Building Fund, PO Box 628, Idabel, OK 74745.
