William Paul Grandmont, 70, of Gloucester, husband of Cynthia A. “Cindy” (Cameron) Grandmont, passed away on the evening of December 14, 2018 in Gloucester Healthcare with his family at his side. Bill was born in Attleboro, MA on February 25, 1948, the son of the late Raymond L. and Leona H. (Rushlow) Grandmont. Bill was a graduate of Bridgewater/Raynham High School with the Class of 1967.

When he graduated he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served proudly during the Vietnam War. When he returned home he went to work at Varian, where he met his wife Cindy. He worked there for ten years.

He married and raised his family and enjoyed life. He was a member of the Masons for many years. Bill’s workshop in his cellar was his sanctuary.

He was at home with all his tools and music was always on. Anything from opera, classical, to rock and his favorites, the Oldies. If you were in a conversation with Bill and you asked a question or gave him some information, out came his notepad and pen.

He never left home without it, and that way he never forgot anything. He would tell you “I’ve been around the world and talked to everybody twice”. And, don’t forget his Hawaiian shirts.

Bill was a classic. He absolutely loved his grandchildren and will truly be missed by his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife Cindy, with whom he was married to for 38 years; his daughters Nicole Lark and her husband Marcus of Gloucester, Lisa White and her husband Jack of Gloucester; a son Jon Dahlmer of VA; and nine grandchildren Andrew, Aaron, Justin, Cameron, Ashlee and Hannah Dahlmer, Zachary and Molly White and Taylor Parker; one great grandson Matthew Dahlmer; a sister-in-law Edith Parisi and her husband Joe and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Beechbrook Cemetery, West Gloucester. Family and friends are cordially invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be gratefully accepted by the family, in care of: Mrs. Cindy Grandmont, 122 Centennial Ave.

Gloucester, MA 01930. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester.
