Willie Alvis Luellen, age 78, of Sanford, NC, died Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital. He was born in Rockwall, Texas on December 18, 1940 to the late Willie Albert Luellen and Beatrice Lewis Luellen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Rodney Alvis Luellen and sisters Essie Duckworth and Aileen Brown.

Mr. Luellen grew up on a farm and was retired from the Van Zandt County School System in Texas and a mechanic and maintenance worker. He is survived by sons Willie Randall “Randy” Luellen and Sylvia Currie of Rockingham, NC, Ronnie Ronald Luellen of Arizona; daughter Dena Arleen Luellen of Texas; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Lee Memory Gardens with Chaplain Joel Cameron officiating.

There will be no formal visitation.
