Willie Dean (Watson) Hobson, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood, Texas. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Broadway Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M.. Willie was born on August 21, 1933 in Roosevelt, New Mexico to Lon Datus and Thelma Rose (Dugan) Watson.

She married John A. Hobson on July 3, 1950 in Eastland, Texas. She worked as a supervisor for Wall’s Industries for many years before retiring. She was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater, Texas.

Mawmaw liked sewing, cooking, fishing, and playing yahtzee. She loved her family, friends and had a life of service to her family. She was mother to several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Weems and husband Billy of Sweetwater, Texas; and Jana Johnson and husband Mitch of Brownwood, Texas; one sister; Bea Williamson of Waco, Texas; four grandchildren; Mysti Weems Bryan, Jon Weems, Cassi Stewart, and J.D. Johnson; thirteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hobson, parents, two sisters, one brother, and granddaughter, Krysti Medellin. Pallbearers will be Mike Stewart, J.D. Johnson, Jon Weems, Raymond Medellin, Huey Bryan, and Adolf Gutierrez.
