Willis G. Knowlton August 03, 1931 – December 20, 2018 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Willis G. “Bill” Knowlton Willis G. “Bill” Knowlton, 87, of Elyria, died December 20, 2018 in the company of his family. He was born August 3, 1931 in Lorain and attended Elyria High School. Bill served in The United States Navy aboard the USS Missouri during The Korean War.

He was formerly employed as an appliance repairman for Bill Baker’s Inc. in Elyria retiring in 1995, after which he worked as a self employed machinist. For over fifty years he was active with the Boy Scouts of America and was the recipient of The Silver Beaver Award. He was a steam locomotive and motorcycle enthusiast.

Bill was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. Bill is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Emma (nee Amspaugh); sons, William (Sue), Robert (June), Richard (Jennifer) and David (Debi); fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sister, Charolette Van Boven and a brother, Dale Knowlton. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola Knowlton.

Friends will be received Wednesday December 26, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Thursday December 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Keller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst Township where Elyria VFW # 1079 will present military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
