Willis Knight of Kansas City, Missouri April 5, 1930 – February 1, 2019 Willis Knight was born April 5, 1930, to William Henry Knight and Lucille Knight in Calhoun, OK. Both parents, two daughters, Alita & LaLainea Knight, one brother, Robert Knight; four sisters, Geneva Carter, Jeanett Moore, Dorothy Bates and Charlotte Roberts preceded him in death. At age 16, Willis joined the United States Army and fought in the Korean War where he received an honorable discharge.

He had four nephews who followed his footsteps into the Army, Navy and the Marines. The family migrated to Kansas City in the late 1940’s. Willis lived in Oklahoma City for a while, where he worked for the Oklahoma City Museum.

After retiring he moved back to Kanas City. Finally he met and married the love of his life, Delores Evans with whom he shared the best part of his life. Willis was a peaceful man with a quiet spirit.

He loved his family and enjoyed talking on the phone, watching old western movies and sports. God blessed him with the gift of giving; that was what he enjoyed most of all. Willis also spent much time in his prayer room, praying for all those he knew and loved.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Dolores; one brother-in-law, Richard Roberts and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
