Wilma Faye Hamner, age 83, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018. She was born on November 17, 1935 in the Board Camp community of Polk County, the daughter of Leonard McKinley Cogburn and Willie Bell Dilbeck Cogburn. On March 5, 1956, she was married to Jimmy Lee Hamner who preceded her in death on October 2, 2008.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary Hamner and Jimmy A. Hamner; four grandchildren, Gary Wayne Hamner, Kitty Rollins, Kimberly Rollins and Sarah Crump; her son-in-law, Norman Burmaster; and all of her siblings. She is survived by four sons and their spouses, Jerry Hamner of Glenwood, Greg and Sheila Hamner of Caddo Gap, Troy and Stacey Hamner of Caddo Gap and David and Mojah Hamner of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; three daughters, Karen Burmaster of Dardanelle, Kelly Hodges of Caddo Gap and Tammy Crosson of Norman; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Tommy Hamner of Black Springs. Wilma worked in restaurants when she was younger and helped her family raise a garden and can food to get them through the winter.

From the age of thirteen, she also took care of her mother who was crippled with arthritis. She worked alongside her husband in the logging woods, all the while, raising nine kids. Later in life, she worked as a housekeeper for the Montgomery County Nursing Home.

When she was eighty-two years old, she worked with her daughter cooking at the local sale barn. Wilma has been a constant rock for her family and always ready with advice when asked. She will be greatly missed and is LOVED by all who knew her.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 21, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Greg Hamner officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Big Fork. Pallbearers will be her granddaughters. Guest registry is at www.
