Wilma’s brothers, who reside in Colorado, Wayne and family and Ron, survive her as well. Don and Wilma met in Denver, Colorado during World War II. Don served in the Army Air Corps and Wilma worked in a pharmacy.

They were married at the Napa home of Don’s parents in 1947. Wilma continued to reside in the home Don built for the next 70 years. Wilma retired from Napa unified School district after working in food service at Silverado Middle school and vintage High School where she made many lasting friendships.

Upon retirement, Wilma continued to enjoy gardening, cooking, travel and oil painting. Wilma valued spending time with the many wonderful friends she made in Napa over the years. Wilma was very active in local organizations, including Community Projects, Napa women’s Club, and the Napa Valley art Association.

Wilma was a prolific artist and thoroughly enjoyed the companionship of her fellow artists at the weekly painting class. Her paintings were sold to many local enthusiasts as well as others throughout the U.S. We wish to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Brookdale Napa for the excellent care provided to Wilma.

In addition, the staff at Collabria Hospice should be recognized for their invaluable care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Collabria Hospice, Community Projects, or the Napa Valley Art Association. A private service will be held to honor the life and memory of Wilma Ellsworth.

Burial will follow at the family plot at Tulocay Cemetery.
